My son found this old bottle buried out in the woods yesterday. I took this photo in the early morning light. I had to change my angle a few times because the sun was so bright.

These two are in the shade with the flash on.
This was shot in my basement with the flash on and all lights off.

  1. Absolutely stupendous subjects for your work this week. You have nailed each assignment. I especially like the bug on the finger. It has excellent color, focus, and depth. It also tells a story in that the bug is bridging the nail and the flesh and so implies that it is in motion and on a journey.

    Great work!

  2. Love your complimentary subjects. They have excellent detail, and really do pop out against each other. The framing is also excellent on that one. I find that out of about every ten shots I take I get one that's a definite keeper, that one is a keeper for sure.

  3. Analogous seemed to be the biggest challenge, but you pulled it off nicely! As for the lighting photos - I think the last one with the flash is my favorite.

  5. I like the bug photo the most because of the bright orange and your bright nails. I also love finding old things in the woods that bottle looks extremely old and I wonder how old it really is. You did a good job showing all the different light sources by shadow, bright sun, and in the dark with the flash on. Good job this week!
